This will have Lennon sweating over whether or not he will get his man, Celtic have offered £5 million for the Englishman but it remains to be seen if Lawwell will up his bid to secure the striker.
Toney is now waiting to see whether or not Brentford are promoted to the English Premier League via Tuesday’s Championship Play-Off Final.
If they win, the Bees will be leading in securing Toney’s signature and Celtic will have to look to plan B if they want to add to their squad.
Celtic do have three great strikers and Lennon has already said that he needs four so he doesn’t need to rely on players to play out of position if injuries occur, just like last season.
