Celtic could reignite their interest in Omar Colley as the defender has fallen out of favour with Claudio Ranieri this season.

The Sampdoria centre-back became the main transfer target of Neil Lennon’s during the summer transfer window.

The Gambian defender would have made a brilliant signing for the Scottish Champions but negotiations broke down as the Italian club wanted £10 million to secure his services.

The Hoops could have probably managed to bring that number down slightly but the club thought that the money would be better spent elsewhere.

With Shane Duffy seemingly off form, Neil Lennon still needs another big defender to add to his squad and Colley could become a target once again.

With Colley only managing to play three games so far this year, a move could be on the cards.

The defender’s value has dropped since then and Celtic could get their man for roughly £4 million.

The defence has been a major problem this season and Lennon could be looking to secure a solid defensive boost.
