When there’s an open transfer window in football there will always be rumours, these rumours can even come from nothing and Celtic are no different to any other club as Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson becomes a growing name that consistently gets mentioned among Hoops fans.

There isn’t enough evidence on this one apart from Ferguson’s name being mentioned here and there over the past 12 months.

We all know the problems that some sections of the Hoops fanbase would have if the 21 year old did indeed become a transfer target of Neil Lennon’s, that of course both his father and uncle Derek and Barry were notably former Rangers players.

This doesn’t really matter that much as we have had players who have came from a Rangers supporting family and went on to be outstanding servants to Celtic, the fact that Lewis is only 21 years old and has already racked up around 100 appearances for Hamilton and Aberdeen could suggest that Ferguson is becoming a decent future talent for Scottish football.

The Aberdeen star scored their only and winning goal against Hibs on Sunday, this should be Celtic’s market as we have lost out on a few future talents already who have gone on to be stars in England.

If Celtic do sell Rogic and Ntcham in this window then we can expect Ferguson’s name to stand out even more, Celtic might not have publicly confirmed interest but they will definitely have Lewis in some sort of future talent list.
