According to Daily Record Sport, Shved has flown back to Scotland for treatment after dropping out of Andriy Shevchenko’s squad.
They young Ukrainian has shown us that he does have the talent to thrive in the first team, however if Lennon thinks the forward can’t keep fit and keeps picking up small injuries then it might be the reason Shved hasn’t featured since the qualifiers.
On the plus side, Celtic have a lot of cover now as Lennon has recruited wisely in the summer transfer window, this will allow Celtic’s training staff to focus on bringing Shved’s fitness up to a level he can compete for a first team spot.
When Lennon managed Celtic the first time he built a great team but he didn’t have the amount of quality he has now in terms of depth.
Last season proved that when Brendan failed to get players in and the loss of Dembele and Griffiths, the squad were tiring after two previous energetic campaigns.
Now Lennon has plenty of choice and could even build two sets of squads to complete the season and a possible fourth treble in a row.
