Celtic’s next Norwegian star Leo Hjelde has revealed his training sessions with the first team have helped him understand what it will take to play for the Scottish Champions.
Don’t be fooled by the youngsters age, he may only be 16 years old but the former Rosenborg player is rated very highly back in his homeland and Celtic were lucky to sign him while he’s still under the radar.
The defender signed for the Hoops in the summer window and since then he has been training hard and fighting to be a regular in Celtic’s under 18 squad.
Celtic manager Lennon also wanted Leo to train with the first team to allow him to understand the needs of the Scottish game and the Norwegian now knows he must get tough if he wants to fight for a senior spot.
“The Scottish game is very tough and i know what I must do”
“The sessions with the first team will help me grow as a player and hopefully allow me to challenge for the first team, I must be ready for that day when it comes”
Hjelde might be a while off just now but for Celtic fans all-over, its great to see the high calibre of youth that will one grace the pitch of Parkhead.
