Kris Ajer and Mo Elyounoussi got the better of Hagi last night as both Celtic stars did their part in Norway’s 4-0 thrashing of Romania during their Nations League match.
The newly signed Sevco player didn’t have much of a performance after Hagi was taken off around the 60 minute mark.
Both Celtic stars handled Hagi and his teammates with ease and Neil Lennon can look at that performance with a smile on his face as Celtic will come up against Rangers on Saturday.
Ianis Hagi seems to be taken some tips from Morelos in the complaining department as the player had a post match rant that didn’t impress the Romanian media.
The loser said:
“It is a result we did not expect, it is a big disappointment, but this is not the face of the national team. If we complain after every match, even after painful results, it’s not good. We just have to look to the national team’s next match.
“You should ask the manager about why we didn’t have chances. You run after the ball for four or five minutes then when you have it at your feet you can’t do anything. You lose your energy, your breath, and all you can do is draw a foul.
“I’m very upset so I don’t want to say anything stupid. Football is a collective sport. We didn’t play well, you could feel it on the pitch and I’m sure you could see it on TV.”
This win by Norway will give both Celtic players a much needed boost in confidence and Scott Brown has hopefully seen this rant by Hagi, the Hoops skipper will have something to use on the pitch should Hagi feature against the Champions of Scotland.
