Celtic could be given a massive boost in their quest for Champions League football next season as UEFA are pondering a plan that certain leagues would only need to play against one team in order to make it to the group stages.

There is alot happening in the world and it has made it a difficult task to complete domestic football, UEFA need to move fast in order to finish this seasons Champions League but also kick-start next seasons.

However, with the restrictions in travel, Certain clubs could be given a massive boost and may only need to play against one team either over two legs or just a one-off match.

The proposal would see the champions of the 12 highest-ranked countries who do not have a club already in the group stage move straight into a one-round playoff, with the winners of each tie qualifying for the Group Stages.

This means that rather than having to play three or four ties to make the Group Stage, like has been the case for Celtic in recent seasons, they’d only have to advance past one team, either over two legs or in a one-off game. (source)
