As Celtic prepare to face Aberdeen on Sunday it’s fair to say that the squad have performed below par over the last few weeks.

With back to back defeats at the hands of Rangers and AC Milan this Celtic team have had a knock to their confidence.

There is one saving grace, Kris Ajer has been the main player who has stood out over the last few games as Celtic’s best player as he was arguably our best player in both games.

The big Norwegian stood out as a key figure against Milan and also stopped Celtic conceding further against Rangers last weekend.

Ajer would definitely be classed as Celtic’s best defender at the moment and hopefully Celtic manage to right all wrongs against Aberdeen tomorrow.

With Shane Duffy struggling to get to grips with playing for a winning club and young Welsh still learning his trade, Ajer could prove vital in these coming fixtures.

Many Celtic fans with me included thought that Shane Duffy would stroll this league and he still could, but for the moment the big Irish defender must get to grips with how Lennon needs him to play as these run of fixtures will prove to be Lennon’s toughest yet.

Ajer will be looking to continue his run of good form against Aberdeen as Celtic will be going into this match for a win and nothing less will be accepted by the Hoops support.
