Ismaila Soro has been ruled out of the running to replace Scott Brown at Celtic.
In his scathing Daily Express column, former Hoops star Charlie Nicholas delivered the decision.
Nicholas made a total of 209 appearances for Celtic over two spells, scoring 125 goals and winning two Scottish trophies, so you would think he knows a thing or two about what it takes to perform at Parkhead although some fans would disagree.
After 14 years at Parkhead, Captain Scott Brown is leaving this year.
Although Nicholas dismissed the idea that Brown was a “legend” earlier in his post, he does acknowledge that there would be huge shoes to fill.
“What Celtic will have more difficulty replacing is Brown’s personality and leadership qualities in the dressing room,” he claimed.
“Ismaila Soro is not good enough to be regarded as Brown’s successor in the midfield anchor role.”
Soro, who joined Celtic for about £2 million in January 2020, has played just a few games this season.
He hasn’t played much in the league after a streak of ten consecutive starts between December and February (via Transfermarkt).
