Chris Sutton claims he would not recruit former Rangers youth product Lewis Ferguson from Aberdeen for Celtic because he ‘wouldn’t improve’ the team.

Ferguson’s name has been linked with Celtic in the past, with Millwall of the English Championship recently making a £1.5 million approach for the midfielder.

The 22-year-old’s uncle Barry, a former Rangers player, as well as his father, have previously stated that they would not object to his joining the other side of Glasgow.

Ferguson might still depart this summer, but instead travel south to England, which is something Sutton would prefer.

Here is what Sutton said when asked if he would take Ferguson for Celtic:

“Not at this moment time. I wouldn’t take him.

I am not sure he would improve the Celtic team, at this moment in time. But the game is about opinions.”

Although I personally think Lewis Ferguson is a good player I agree with Sutton on this one as Celtic still have better players that could do the same job.

Postecoglou still has David Turnbull at his disposal and Ferguson wouldn’t get any game time.
