Milan van Ewijk, a Celtic transfer target is due to depart ADO Den Haag in the summer, and the right-back looks set to be available for a bargain price now that his price tag has been revealed.

This season, the Hoops seem to be in dire need of a right-back. In 2021, they replaced both Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Elhamed, and had to borrow Jonjoe Kenny from Everton.

Kenny was Neil Lennon’s last signing as Celtic manager, but a permanent Parkhead transfer for the Toffees man does not appear to be on the cards.

As a result, the Hoops could use some help at right-back in the summer window, and they showed interest in van Ewijk back in March.

ADO Den Haag, according to a new article from Dutch outlet AD, sees the summer as a suitable opportunity to part ways with van Ewijk, and are looking for about €750,000 (£650,000) for his services.

Van Ewijk is priced at £675,000 by Transfermarkt and has only over a year left on his new deal, so it seems that the Hoops will swoop in at a somewhat lower price by making a £650,000 offer.

Should new Celtic CEO Dominic McKay want to sign van Ewijk ahead of the 2021/22 season to fix the club’s right-back problems, he will have to move quickly.

That’s because, according to AD’s most recent article, SC Heerenveen has been granted permission to speak to the 20-year-old.

Celtic will have to outbid Heerenveen by presenting an amount similar to the asking price, as they have given ADO Den Haag about €500,000.

The Hoops seem to be on the verge of striking a deal, but time is running out to prevent losing their guy to other teams.
