Celtic could be dealt a January transfer blow as Preston North End are set to open contract discussions with their star and Hoops target.
On the run upto the last transfer deadline day, Celtic were reportedly getting close to securing a deal to bring Ben Davies from Preston to Glasgow, a deal couldn’t be concluded.
However, all seemed fine as Shane Duffy was brought in instead as Celtic were aiming to land Davies on a pre-contract in January as they could sign him for free next summer.
A new report from The Lancashire Post has confirmed that the English club are set to open talks with all of their soon to be out of contract stars including Ben Davies.
The rumours coming from the club suggest that Davies doesn’t want to stay at the club as the 25 year old wants a move away.
The Scottish Champions could still be in-contact with the defender and when January 1st comes around a contract could be offered to begin next summer.
