Neil Lennon could be ready to swoop for Crystal Palace utility man Martin Kelly as Celtic are set to lose wantaway Hatem Abd Elhamed.

The Celtic star has confirmed that he will be leaving in the next transfer window due to personal reasons as the right-back wishes to return home to his family.

This would mean that Neil Lennon would need to replace him due to already lacking in that right-back area.

The rumours are that the Scottish Champions require a solid experienced player to fill Elhamed’s boots and Martin Kelly of Crystal Palace has emerged as a contender.

The 30-year-old certainly has experience but lacks game-time this season, he would be available for a permanent move for around £2 million if Kelly would be willing to slightly drop his wages for playing time.

Although Martin Kelly has only managed around three appearances this season, the utility player has 21 games from last year to back his ability.

Neil Lennon will be looking at where Kelly can play as the 30-year-old has experience in playing all defending roles including left-back also, this would be appealing to the Glasgow side.
