Former Celtic manager Davie Hay expects his former club and Neil Lennon to fix one key issue that they wished they had last summer, to sign a striker.
Lennon needs to get in at least one striker in this window as Edouard needs help with leading Celtic’s attacking line.
Hay was quoted from his column:
“In hindsight, Celtic are paying the price for not bringing in another striker in the summer. There was never any guarantee over the fitness of Leigh Griffiths, while Bayo was untested at this level” Hay said.
“I’m sure that Neil Lennon will be looking to rectify that mistake soon, and I’m certain he will have something up his sleeve to take the pressure off Odsonne Edouard. They have to rectify that error in this window.”
We obviously can see why at the time signing a striker wasn’t top priority as Celtic already had three at the club, however things can change fast in football and Lennon needs a few new Bhoys in as soon as possible.
