English Clubs Plan Celtic £25 Million Bargain Buy
English clubs are planning to battle it out for Celtic’s star striker Odsonne Edouard on the cheap.
Various sources have claimed that Arsenal and Everton are leading the line at trying to sign the 62 goal Frenchman and are only willing to pay around £25 million.
However, Arsenal paid Celtic £25 million last year for Tierney who’s a left-back so surely Edouard would be worth at least £40 million.
The striker has been prolific ever since he moved to Scotland on an initial loan deal, Celtic signed the ace permanently from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018 for a reported fee of £9m. (source)
Both English clubs this season are mid-level at best and will not be in Europe next year, so why would Edouard want to step down a gear.
Opinion Time
Celtic should flex their muscles over this Edouard saga as we need to prove that clubs from England can’t bully the Hoops into selling top players at bargain prices.
The Hoops caved when selling Tierney for just £25 million, when the former Celtic player gets back to full fitness and has one good season his value will double.
This is why whenever Edouard leaves the Bhoys, it must be for no less that £30 million.
