Moritz Bauer hasn’t managed to break into the Stoke first-team since his loan deal at Celtic ended during the Summer period.
The defender had high hopes that he would challenge for a first team position with Celtic as Neil Lennon signed the defender from the English outfit the previous year.
Although Bauer made around 13 appearances for the Scottish Champions, he didn’t manage to impress Neil Lennon into making him a permanent signing.
The Austrian international returned to his club Stoke and it’s now been confirmed that the defender isn’t training with the first-team as he doesn’t feature in Michael O’Neill’s plans for the season.
Moritz Bauer wasn’t a terrible player at Celtic, it was just unfortunate for him that Jeremie Frimpong went on a fine run of form which ended Bauer’s role in the squad.
There are still a host of options that the defender can take as some transfer windows are still open including the English one, so the Austrian still has a chance at securing a fresh start in his career.
