Ange Postecoglou has now took charge of his squad at Celtic and now we can expect signings to be made, the new Celtic manager has set his sights on signing Iván Villar who currently plays in goals for Spanish club Celta Vigo.
From what we understand, Celtic are not willing to allow Vasilis Barkas another season at Celtic after a terrible first at the former Scottish Champions.
The Hoops paid well over the price for him in our books as around £5 million was wasted to secure his signature, now it looks like the club have told Barkas to find himself another club via a sale or a loan deal.
However, Postecoglou wants to sign Spanish goalkeeper Iván Villar as the 23 year old who is currently valued at around £2.5 million.
The Celta Vigo player managed to play 21 league games last season and also conceded 30 with 5 clean sheets to his name.
The young Spaniard has impressed his club since making the move to the senior squad from their youth setup.
It’s been rumoured that Celtic are hoping to secure his services in a deal that could cost £3.5 million, something that seems reasonable for a La Liga player who is currently playing well.
Our sources at a Spanish Football agency who state that discussions between both clubs are still at an early stage but remain hopeful.
