Celtic outcast Leigh Griffiths could be on his way out of Parkhead sooner rather than later as the 30 year old striker seems to be catching the eye of a certain former Hoops manager.

There has been alot of speculation surrounding the potential departure of Leigh Griffiths from Celtic as the striker simply cannot get the motivation to keep fit and fight for a starting place at the 9 in a row winning club.

There were rumours that the 30 year old could leave the Hoops this summer and join his former captain Scott Brown at Aberdeen and also Griffiths was linked with a return to Hibernian.

Our sources within American Soccer Agents WASSERMAN who currently represent Griffiths, have confirmed that a few MLS clubs have contacted Celtic about a deal for their striker.

But the main interest has come from New York City FC who are managed by former Celtic manager Ronny Deila who is rumoured to be keen to link up the Hoops striker.

We aren’t sure if an offer has been made or spoke about but we do know that something could be done for a round the £1 million mark as Celtic seem willing to get Griffiths off the wage bill.

Some Celtic fans still want the 30 year old to stay at the club but now is the time for change and a new era at the club must begin with a few faces being moved on.

In defense of Griffiths, when he has shown he’s fit the striker knows how to score goals and maybe Neil Lennon just refused to play him, we will not know the full extent of last season and what was being said behind closed doors until someone comes out with a tell all story.

As we said above, no official offer has been made but some phone calls have been speculated to have been made.
