Former Celtic player Kris Commons has highly suggested that Hibernian player Martin Boyle could be a serious target for Celtic this season as the pundit drops the hint about the winger.

The Hibs winger scored twice for the Edinburgh club at the weekend and kicked off his final season with Hibs in style, Commons has suggested that Celtic could come calling after the Scottish Champions have been linked with Boyle a few times now.

Boyle’s career seemed to he heading for the top until he required knee surgery after being injured in a warm up match ahead of the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The Hoops only have two main men that can play on either side, James Forrest and Moi Elyounoussi are Lennon’s first options with Dembele waiting patiently for a shot in the first ream, as Mikey seems to have picked up an injury.

Lennon could use Frimpong and Bolingoli, and push both players up the field but Celtic could use another first team addition and Boyle could do a great job in a league he already thrives in.

Commons speaks to the media:

Having scored both goals in Hibs’ 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at the weekend, it was a welcome return to form for a man who has suffered from some horrible injury problems. My advise to Hibs fans would be quite simple. Enjoy him while you can.

Given that he’s only got a year left on his contract, bigger clubs are bound to be looking at him.

I know for a fact that Neil Lennon rates him highly and thoroughly enjoyed working with him during their time together at Easter Road.

I also don’t see why the likes of Rangers shouldn’t at least have a look at him and explore the possibility of making an offer. With just a year left on his contract, Boyle wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Especially not with the financial problems Hibs are facing.

He could be available at a knockdown price. I reckon a bid of around £250k would be enough to at least ask the question of Hibs.
