Former Celtic defender Gary Caldwell has been sacked as Partick Thistle manager as the club released a statement announcing his departure.
Caldwell took over the Jags last October with the hope of turning them into a force but it never really took off for the former Scotland international.
The 37-year-old has paid the price for failing to turn around Thistle’s fortunes as they sit second bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship with just two points from five games.
Gary Caldwell enjoyed a good career with Celtic and played a total of 150 games in the Hoops before moving on, also winning two Scottish league titles and two cups.
We wish him well and hope he can find something that suits him and hes always welcome back at Celtic Park, maybe as a coach or scout.
