Celtic’s current number one goalie Fraser Forster has told several media outlets that his time in Glasgow has been the happiest he’s been in years and the 31 year old stopper would relish making his stay at Celtic permanent.
There’s no doubt about it that Forster has been tremendous since his Hoops return, that last ditch save against Lazio alone must have had Southampton thinking why the hell is this guy out on loan, but as always Celtic have benefited from another teams mistakes.
Lennon and Forster have a bond that goes back many years and if anyone can convince Forster to return permanently to Celtic its Lennon, Craig Gordon will most likely leave in January at the very least and Celtic need around two solid goalies, but Forster is rumoured to be on a whopping £70,000 per week at Southampton.
The Englishman does have a love for the Hoops and the fans so we would hope that playing matches and winning trophies are enough for Forster to take a drop in wages to seal the deal and return to Glasgow a full Celtic player again in the summer.
Forster is only 31 years old and still has a lot of playing time ahead of him, we would love to see Bain and Forster battling it out this season and next for the number one spot.
