French Giants Reject Celtic Approach But Leave Door Open
Celtic have had a bid rejected for Mitchel Bakker as the PSG defender has been a rumoured target for the Scottish Champions for the last few weeks, Anthony Joseph who works for Sky Sports has also suggested that the door has been left opened by the French Giants.
There’s no secret that Celtic and Neil Lennon are in the market for a solid left-back as the Hoops manager confirmed the case, Bakker has huge talent that would be the perfect fit for the Hoops and PSG have kept dialogue opened despite a rejected loan bid.
Its rumoured that PSG are holding off allowing Mitchel Bakker to leave on loan as they fear they could lose one of their key defenders in this window, the French oufit are waiting to see what happens before allowing Bakker to move to Scotland on a season long loan deal.
With Bolingoli’s Celtic career about to end, it seems Lennon has his heart set on the former Ajax product.
Bakker, 20, has already made his first team debut for PSG but at the moment is third choice left back after coming in from Ajax on a Free Transfer back in the 19/20 season.
The defender could flourish at Celtic and would be more likely to adapt to a Neil Lennon 3-5-2 system. We’ll keep an eye on developments.
