After some mysterious statements on social media, Celtic target Brandon Soppy has started tongues buzzing.

In recent days, the 19-year-old Rennes right back has been extensively connected with a move to Paradise. The Bhoys and the French kid have begun “talks,” according to Fabrizio Romano.

To add to the speculation, the defender has posted a few of notes on his Instagram account.

On his stories today, the second slide showed what appeared to be Soppy packing away his stuff from Roazhon Park, the home of Stade Rennais.

This appears to be the most conclusive evidence yet that the Celtic target will depart Rennes. However, it does not rule out the possibility of him joining the Bhoys; according to Fabrizio Romano, French teams are interested in signing the right-back.

Those clubs, though, would have to be Ligue 1’s affluent institutions. The league is in financial turmoil, with uncertainty about television arrangements having a significant impact on team budgets.

For Celtic, Soppy would undoubtedly solve an issue. The Bhoys have been short-handed at right-back since the departures of Jeremie Frimpong [BBC] and, to a lesser extent, Hatem Abd Elhamed [Daily Record].
