Steven Gerrard and the Klanbase are sweating over the availability of Borna Barisic as the Sevco defender could be set for a longer stint out due to an injury from International duty.
The defender played in Croatia’s 4-1 hammering from Portugal but was kept out of their defeat at the hands of France.
The Sevconians have already released both Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday and will struggle to cover what they deem as a key player should Barisic be out longer, the only player they could use would be they newly acquired youngster Calvin Bassey as left-back cover.
This would be a huge blow to the Sevco mob as the Croation is regarded as one of their better players from a bad bunch of losers.
The media reports:
Croatian FA team doctor Zoran Bahtijarevic has revealed why manager Zlatko Dalic opted to leave the Rangers full back on the bench for 90 minutes.
He said: “Borna Barisic got a knock on his knee against Portugal. I couldn’t say with certainty that he would have been fully ready for the match in France.”
As much as Celtic’s stars have somewhat had a good and positive International experience, most of Sevco’s players have had bad trips that we hope will allow points to be taken off them in their next match.
