David Turnbull has impressed Hoops fans as the 21 year old finally got the nod to play a full second half against Hibernian.

Since the dynamic midfielder signed for the Scottish Champions, fans were eager for Neil Lennon to throw the experienced player into the squad.

Even though Turnbull managed to play a few cameo roles against the likes of Livingston and Ross County, this game was his first chance at showing Neil Lennon that he’s up for the task.

The Scotland U21 international didn’t seem fazed that he was playing for the Champions of Scotland and Turnbull made an instant impact to the flow of the game.

The former Motherwell star made his creative passes look far too easy and his vision was brilliant, Turnbull also didn’t mind attempting some key attacking runs and managed to assist Mohamed Elyounoussi’s goal.

Neil Lennon must surely be looking at his performance and thinking that Turnbull could be a real contender for a starting place in upcoming games.

The key to this season will be the effective use of squad rotation and Celtic have players who can replace and make a sudden impact on matches without hesitation, its all about finding the right tactics and the correct group of players.

Neil Lennon has waited a full year to sign David Turnbull and from today’s performance he’s worth it.
