There has been growing rumours that Eddie Howe will be named manager of Celtic tomorrow as this could be Neil Lennon’s last match in charge of the Scottish Champions, further developments with Newcastle could hinder any link between both club and Howe.

We have all seen the WhatsApp message and other things that have given Celtic fans hope that Eddie Howe who is still a free agent will be named as Celtic’s new club manager.

However, Steve Bruce of Newcastle is reportedly the bookies favourite to be sacked and Howe has been named as their favourite as his successor just like Celtic’s situation.

The difference in both situations would be that Howe’s link to Celtic hasn’t officially been made public and there is stronger media focus linking him to take over the reigns at Newcastle.

Howe resigned as Bournemouth boss in August but it looks like his time out could soon be over as The Sun reports:

EDDIE HOWE is the leading contender to be appointed Newcastle’s next permanent manager. That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve installed the former Bournemouth boss as the 7/2 favourite to replace Steve Bruce at St. James’ Park.

Howe, 43, has been a free agent since leaving the Vitality Stadium in August and his attacking approach could prove popular on Tyneside. Rafa Benitez is second in the betting market at 4/1.

The 63-year-old guided Newcastle to the Championship title and secured a 10th and two 13th-placed finishes before leaving to join Dalian Yifang in July 2019. However, Rafa’s return looks unlikely given his fractured relationship with owner Mike Ashley.

The former Bournemouth manager has always stated that he would like to stay close to his family and Newcastle at least keeps him in English Football, Celtic fans might have to prepare themselves for the announcement and other managerial options might have to be discussed amongst the fanbase.
