Gary Caldwell has hit out at the Celtic players after their run of terrible form that has put Neil Lennon in the frame to be sacked.
The former Celtic defender has backed his former captain as he insists its the players who are underperforming and not Neil Lennon.
Although there should be blame on both sides it is ultimately the manager of the club who gets the flack when things get tough, Neil Lennon has been a tremendous servant to the Scottish Champions but sometimes a drastic change is needed before things turn for the worse and there’s no way back.
The Hoops are pretty much out of Europe with only the odd game left to play, AC Milan will be Celtic’s opponents this week and it looks like Neil Lennon will still be in charge, it’s one of those games that Lennon could get a result but it could also be too late.
Gary Caldwell spoke with the media over the recent saga regarding Celtic’s underperforming squad and his friend Neil Lennon.
“If you cut him open he would have green and white blood. It runs through his veins.
“The club song is ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ yet at this moment in time a small minority are hanging one man out to dry.
“I think the whole club needs to take responsibility for the situation the team finds themselves in at the minute.
“It is a bit of an obsession to get 10 in a row. Celtic have to try and get away from that and focus more on the process of winning games.”
