Former Celtic and Manchester United star Roy Keane has admitted that he fears his shot at taking charge of the Hoops could be over.

Although Keane has been backed by former Hoops favourite Martin O’Neill, it seems that Keane’s chances at taking the reigns at Parkhead are fading fast as Eddie Howe could be set to take over soon.

Since it was confirmed that Eddie Howe had spoken with the Hoops a few weeks ago it has all went quiet on the speculation front and no other managers have been named, this would suggest that Celtic’s new CEO Dom McKay could be waiting until he takes charge tomorrow before the club reveal their plans for the future of the club.

The stumbling block that was delaying the appointment of Howe could be the fact that the former Bournemouth boss wanted to bring Richard Hughes along with him, this could be a huge issue as the club want to sign Fergal Harkin from Manchester City to head their recruitment side of things.

Hopefully everything can be resolved and Howe will be named as Celtic’s new manager ahead of the summer window, as for Roy Keane, the fans didn’t want him involved with the club again as we must move into a new modern way of working.
