Martin Keown has admitted that he prefers Celtic rather than Rangers but also thinks that the Scottish league is unfair as the Hoops “can’t afford to lose”.

The Arsenal legend has stated that the financial gulf between Celtic and the rest of Scottish football has become unfair.

With Celtic gaining an extra £20 million per season from a good run in Europe, and also selling players for large sums of money, this has put Lennon’s club miles ahead of anyone else.

Keown was asked the reason he has chose to like Celtic over their rivals (source):

“Just the way that they’ve played, dominating football,”

“I know they get £20million a year when they get into the Champions League.

“There’s a massive disparity actually with what happens in Scottish football, that’s why there’s so much trouble there at the moment.

“Celtic can’t fail to win the league with the amount of money they get, so it’s a bit unfair at the moment.”

Opinion Time

The former Arsenal player’s views on Scottish football are down right silly, Celtic cannot be blammed for running their club well and growing their brand better than certain rivals.

Liverpool are also steam-rolling the EPL this season and nobody has complained about them, all this negative press is only because Rangers STILL haven’t won a major trophy.
