Latest: Celtic duo in incredibly harsh international snub
Celtic duo Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate have been left out of the Japan squad for their friendlies against Colombia and Uruguay later this month, as reported by The Irish News.
Fellow Japanese Celt Daizen Maeda has made the cut; however, Furuhashi and Hatate have also been incredibly influential for the Scottish champions this campaign and were more than value for a call-up.
Furuhashi has been in frightening form in front of goal across 2022/23, registering 26 goals and five assists across 38 fixtures, as per Transfermarkt.

Hatate has also been imperious in the Celtic midfield, providing eight goals and nine assists across 37 outings. Nevertheless, the pair will not be involved in Hajime Moriyasu’s plans against Colombia and Uruguay.
Maeda has made a valuable enough contribution to be included and will hope to build on his displays at the World Cup, where he rounded off the tournament with a goal against Croatia in the last 16.
Japan take on Uruguay on the 24th of March before facing Colombia four days later on the 28th.
