In what will be the first patch in the post-Neil Lennon period, Celtic take on Aberdeen this afternoon at Celtic Park.
All minds are on the squad line up and how well John Kennedy identified with the players Neil selected daily or disagreed with them.
Neil stuffed too many inventive midfielders into the side with a lack of order and intent in his final game last Sunday, and it would be his undoing in Dingwall last week.
Celtic today has a blank slate, but by the end of this term, John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan are already calling the shots.
It is an incentive for John to prove that he’s successful enough to be allowed to handle. Not Celtic, not right now, but if he could put in a decent enough run in the final eight games, he’d be able to get a job as a manager elsewhere and develop his credentials. Although all of that is a long way off!
Today’s attention is on Celtic’s success and efforts to regain some glory this season.
Below will be the caretaker manager’s provisional team and we would love to hear your thoughts in the comments:
Hazard, Bain, Barkas, Doohan, Taylor, Laxalt, Welsh, Ajer, Duffy, Bitton, Ralston, Kenny, Connell. McGregor, Soro, Henderson, Christie, Brown, Johnston, Rogic, Turnbull, Elyounoussi, Griffiths, Klimala, Edouard and Ajeti.
