Neil Lennon looks set to reject signing Moritz Bauer as the Celtic loan player hasn’t did enough to earn a permanent move in the summer, this could be great news for other defenders such as O’Connor.

Bauer will return to Stoke City in the summer as the Celtic manager will request that the defender isn’t purchased as Bauer hasn’t impressed since joining last year on loan.

With Frimpong and Elhamed already cemented their places as key members of Lennon’s squad, there seems no point wasting money on a non-starter.

This decision could also benefit players such as O’Connor as his form in the reserves since joining the Hoops last year has been fantastic, this could the 19-year-olds chance at some first team experience next season.
