Neil Lennon would be happy to hand Odsonne Edouard a 1 year extension on his current Celtic contract and ideally start off the summer on a major positive.

The Celtic manager confirms that he wishes to sit with Edouard and hopefully thrash out a deal that would allow the striker to stay for one more season. (source)

Lennon also states that the French striker will have more than a few clubs in for him during the summer transfer window.

Ideally we’d like to sit down with him. The landscape has changed from where we were a month ago to now.

There’s no doubt about that. It’s uncertain. Ideally you would like to keep your prized assets for at least another year anyway. If the market galvanises itself again, you could look at it then.

There’s no question there’s going to be interest in him, but, ideally, we’d like to tie him down to another year on top of what he has already and keep him here.

Edouard Is Top Target

Lennon must use all his charm and experience to persuade Edouard to stay for one more season as this should be Celtic’s top target.

Forget signing anyone else as losing Edouard would be worse than having no summer signings.
