Celtic have lost 2-0 at Ibrox today at the hands of Steven Gerrard’s highly motivated Rangers, with goals coming from a fabulous James Tavernier free kick and also a Scott Arfield goal.
Celtic just didn’t turn up today and it felt as if they were still recovering from the clinching of the league title last week, no game against Rangers means nothing even if the outcome makes no difference to the points tally, both clubs need to win and Celtic along with Lennon and his backroom staff let the fans down big time with today’s performance.
There will be fans backing Lennon and fans not backing him but as much as its not his team he still has the experience and knowledge of our game to be able to pick the best team and layout a tactical plan to win the game.
Lennon has since commented that even though his side have lost to Rangers he still thinks it wont be taken into consideration when being considered for the Celtic job permanently.
On paper winning the treble looks great for Lennon but in reality Lennon has already stated many times that this is not his season its the players and backroom staff, also that he will be relying on Kennedy to help him with his job.
