Neil Lennon seems to be reigniting his interest in Paddy McNair as the Middlesbrough player was a previous transfer target of Celtic over the past few seasons.
The Celtic boss will look to the versatile Middlesbrough player if they cannot reach an agreement for Crystal Palace player James McCarthy who has a long list of Premier League suitors who would be looking to also attempt to sign him.
McNair joined Middlesbrough from Sunderland in 2018 for a fee of £5 million and has made 57 appearances for the English club, the utility man also has the added bonus of playing with Manchester United and earning 24 appearances there also.
The 25 year old would probably be a better signing than McCarthy as McNair can play in a few positions including defence and midfield.
This versatility could prove valuable to Lennon as one player could cover half a dozen if needed and at the age of 25 years old, McNair could also be a great addition for the long haul.
With Neil Warnock currently tasked with transforming Middlesbrough, he has already confirmed that there will be departures at the club as to free up the wage budget and allow his players to join.
Some fans might not want McNair to sign for the Hoops as its well known that he supports Rangers but if he is willing to commit to 10 in a row its fine with us, it would just rub it in more to the Sevconians.
