Neil Lennon wants both Jonny Hayes and Craig Gordon to remain at Celtic next year as the Hoops boss aims to tie up both on new deals.

The Celtic manager looks like he’s playing it safe by offering both rotation players new contracts and maybe even a chance at fighting for a place in the first team.

With the high pressure of securing the Scottish Champions to a tenth straight league title in his mind, Lennon will look to familiar faces to help him in this crucial task.

Lennon made these confirmations to the Scottish media:

We’ll be talking with them as we go along. Their contracts run out on June 30 so we’ll hopefully speak with them and their representatives in the next few weeks.

Is this a good idea ?

Lets be honest, both Hayes and Gordon could have a place next season and are still very good players to have around incase anyone gets major injuries.

Are they good enough for a consistent run, probably not or maybe Gordon could still do a job in goals but Hayes can’t keep himself in the squad.

Lennon will be doing these deals just incase it doesn’t go Celtic’s way in the transfer market, but we predict that Craig Gordon will leave to find first team game time.
