Celtic have had a £3 million bid rejected for Patrick Roberts by Manchester City as Lennon aims to bolster his squad for the start of next season.

The former Celtic player has been loaned out to Championship side Middlesbrough and Lennon is keen to bring the star back to Glasgow where Robert’s was loved by the fans.

It was reported that City are willing to offer Roberts an extension until 2023 in the hope the 23 year old could still become a key player for the English giants. (source)

With Manchester City making plans for Robert’s future, the bid by Celtic was rejected.

However, the Celtic board have left the offer on the table as they believe City could change their mind when talking it over with Roberts.

Opinion Time

Patrick Roberts was the signing that Celtic should have made a few years ago and it might be too late for fans to see him back in the Hoops.

However, it could be possible that Celtic are hoping that the winger will force City into accepting the offer and Celtic fans could get a signing that they actually want.
