Marco Rose Might Be Set To Become The Next Celtic Boss In The Summer.

2 min read

Marco Rose could be the ideal choice to take on the Celtic job in the summer as he is regarded as one of the best young coaches in Europe.

Marco Rose’s odds of becoming the next manager of Celtic have been slashed at the bookies.

The 42-year-old is regarded as one of the best young coaches in Europe and has the Austrians in the last 16 of the Europa League and set for another league title.

ose, who entered the betting at 33/1, has been backed into 5/1 and is the second favourite behind interim boss Neil Lennon to land the Parkhead job.

The Irishman, who returned after the departure of Brendan Rodgers to Leicester, has earned wins against Hearts and Hibs in the past week.

The 47-year-old will be keen to remain beyond the summer but punters are piling money on the German to become Celtic’s next permanent boss.

He has Salzburg playing a thrilling brand of football and defeated Rodgers’ side twice during the group stage of the Europa League.

Jose Mourinho is available at 20/1 – with his odds shortening since he hailed the Hoops as a “giant club”.

Rose is reportedly on Manchester United’s shortlist of candidates – although interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to land the Old Trafford job on a permanent basis.

Rose wouldn’t be short of options if he left Salzburg but perhaps a move to a team such as Celtic could further enhance his development.

He already works on a budget which is less than Celtic’s – with the Austrians spending just £41million on wages annually compared to the Hoops (£59m).

The amiable RB boss posed for pictures with Celtic supporters after his side’s 2-1 win in December and even put a Hoops hat scarf on – a sign of things to come?
