McAvennie Stunned At Great Wall Celtic Signing
Former Celtic hero Frank McAvennie can’t quite understand why Southampton let super goalkeeper Fraser Forster join Celtic on-loan, as he’s by far the better goalie the English club have in their roster.
The Great Wall joined Southampton back in 2014 from Celtic for a whopping £10 million, since then Fortser had some ups and downs in England’s top flight and had somehow ended up being demoted to 3rd choice keeper.
What a waste of fantastic talent that was as Forster has now proved he is still a superb goalie as he’s instantly taken the number 1 spot for the Scottish Champions.
But club legend McAvennie admits that he’s stunned that Southampton didn’t feel as if they needed a goalkeeper of his class.
He told Open Goal: “How did they let him go? How did Southampton let him go? I just can’t understand it. Can’t understand it.”
Neil Lennon will have a huge task in trying to keep Forster beyond the end of this season as Southampton will be eyeing a big payday for the inform Keeper.
