The 21-year-old netted a hat-trick for France U21’s on Tuesday, with McManus claiming that the ‘big clubs’ will be ‘sniffing about’ for his signature.
Edouard seems to be following the footsteps of fellow Frenchman Dembele who left Celtic for Lyon for a record fee of around £19.7 million, Celtic fans will hope the club can hold off any offers until at least the Summer 2020.
McManus shares his thoughts:
“Nine goals in four games for France’s U21’s,” McManus told PLZ Soccer. “I think he is a player Celtic can’t afford to lose any time soon. He is the most important player at Parkhead. I think if they lost him, you got Bayo to come in, I don’t fancy him and Leigh Griffiths is still having issues.
“It’s very important they keep hold of him if they want to win the league this season. There will be big clubs sniffing about. £20 million for Dembele, I think you are looking at a similar fee for Edouard.”
