AC Milan have been the main threat for Celtic this summer regarding their interest in Kris Ajer and many fans have been waiting with dread as Milan prepare a third offer for the Norwegian defender, but the tables could have took an interesting turn for the better.

The Italian giants have now confirmed the signing of centre-back Simon Kjær and have announced the defender on a two-year deal from Sevilla, as the club chose to take up their first choice option on the defender. (source)

This could be great news for Lennon and the rest of the Celtic fans as its highly unlikely that Milan will want to spent big money on another defender, and it could mean that Ajer will be here for 10 in a row.

the big Norwegian has played a vital role in Celtic’s quest for 10 in a row and it would seem odd for Ajer to bail out right at the finishing line when Celtic only need to win one more league title to break ALL records and cement themselves in the history books forever.

Celtic are in France ahead of a pre-season tour that kicks off Thursday. Neil Lennon’s side will be looking to get match sharp ahead of the season-opening game with Hamilton at the start of August.

The Bhoys have only signed one player so far with re-signing Moi Elyounoussi on another loan deal. Hopefully, there are some more reinforcements before too long.
