Odsonne Edouard has given Celtic fans hope that the striker will be here next season to help the club in their quest for 10 in a row as he dismisses any potential transfer.
The Frenchman has lead Celtic to a ninth straight domestic title this season with a fantastic 22 goals.
With Edouard’s form and stature only getting better, this has attracted Arsenal, who wish to pursue a summer move for the striker with already being successful with Tierney.
With Aubameyang’s contract soon coming to an end, the English club feel that Edouard would be an ideal replacement for their top player. (source)
Neil Lennon has already confirmed that the club are in talks with Edouard and are eager to retain him for atleast one more season.
Edouard spoke with Celtic TV:
“Winning this award is very good for me, because I worked hard this year,” said Edouard in an interview with Celtic TV. “I’m very happy to be the Player of the Year, and a big thanks to all the fans who voted for me.
“If the league hadn’t stopped, I think I could have scored 30 goals or more, but 28 is still okay. I’m okay with this number!”
He added: “There are a lot of players who deserved the Player of the Year award at Celtic this season, so it gives me a lot of confidence to receive the most votes. That makes me very happy.
Leigh is a great player, and to play alongside him is great for me and it’s also great for the team. He scores a lot of goals, I score a lot of goals; he gives me a lot of assists, I give him a lot of assists – it’s a good partnership. I now look forward to getting back to Lennoxtown and back to training.”
