Neil Lennon issues some special credit to Scott Brown as the Celtic captain proved his critics wrong once again after he put in a solid shift against Hibernian at the weekend.
With the Celtic skipper putting in an 82 minute shift as the Hoops swept aside Hibs 3-0, the gaffer thought that Brown deserved to be man of the match.
Neil Lennon also stated that the media’s stance on the 35 year old being finished was well and truly answered. Brown still has this season in him to lead the club to 10 in a row.
The Hoops boss said:
“I thought he was man of the match, I thought he was brilliant.
“I know people have been questioning him. Sometimes he takes a little bit to get going, he needs the games. But I thought he was imperious.
“People say his legs…his legs haven’t gone. We have got all the data and we see him every day.
“That will maybe really kick-start his season but he is so important to us, he is the fulcrum of the team on and off the field. His performance was magnificent.”
Scott Brown has been the main component in that Celtic team for the last decade, the man simply doesn’t give up.
Maybe Brown will have more bad days than good ones this season but his experience will be vital for the rest of the players if they are going to get through this strange season ahead.
