Former Celtic man Gary-Mackay-Steven wades into the whole saga of Celtic’s ninth title in a row and the midfielder agrees that the Hoops are more than worthy of lifting the trophy when the time finally comes round.
The energetic midfielder who now plays in the MLS with New York City, has lifted the lid on his thoughts that have been dominating the Scottish media since lockdown.
Mackay-Steven was at Celtic for two and a half years before moving to Aberdeen and allowing Hayes to come to Glasgow as part of the deal.
The 29 year old speaks with the media:
“Obviously in the top division we are still waiting to see and it is hard knowing right and wrong about what to do.
“Obviously in an ideal world you would like to play it to a conclusion to know every club’s true position.
“But going back to Celtic they will be worthy champions when the time comes as well.”
At the end of the day every Celtic fan and even neutral fans would agree that Lennon’s Bhoys have did more than enough to be crowned champions should the league end.
