Kevin Kyle has admitted that Celtic fans could feel let down by the club a little as Craig Gordon seems a better option to new signing Vasilis Barkas.
The Open Goal regular is only saying what we have been the last week as Craig Gordon is still a fantastic keeper at 37 years of age and the former Hoops number one proved it last Sunday with a brilliant cup performance.
Craig Gordon left the Scottish Champions after 6 title winning years and many fond memories, the keeper then joined boyhood club Hearts in the Championship and is now facing his former squad in a cup final, incredible.
Kevin Kyle has stated that Gordon is better than Barkas, at the moment we can agree but do not underestimate the big Greek goalie as there is still more to come from him.
“Hibs had a couple of decent opportunities,” Kyle said on the semi-final. “[Kevin] Nisbet will be disappointed not to score the header. But, the other side, unbelievable save from Craig Gordon.
“I mean, Celtic fans must be looking at that side thinking, we’ve got Barkas in goal. He [Gordon] would’ve caught the first header in the Old Firm the other week.”
Vasilis Barkas could just take a little time to settle in his new club it’s not uncommon and not every new player no matter how much they cost hits the ground running.
Maybe Barkas will go on a run of form.
