Opinion- David Turnbull Can Become A Key Player Next Season For Celtic
Celtic seem to be making a positive impact in the transfer market this window with already signing Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal after a brilliant loan stint last season, but there are still players that Ange Postecoglou has at his disposal that maybe didn’t get used as much last season that could be an impact going forward.
One of those players could be David Turnbull as although the 22 year old made 21 appearances last season, the midfielder can enhance the first team more if given more game time.
We’ve seen how good Turnbull can perform but Postecoglou opted to go with Tom Rogic last year and while it was a good decision by the Celtic manager, now the Australian midfielder has left the club maybe Turnbull could be his permanent replacement.
At 22 years old David Turnbull is still young enough to cope with Ange’s high tempo style of player and could easily become a main stay at Celtic for years to come, with a market value of £5.85 million it shows that Turnbull still has high potential to go far in his footballing career.
The Scottish midfielder is also very versatile and can switch positions without blinking an eye, Turnbull can play in such roles as CAM, CM, LM and even LW.
The choice remains with Postecoglou and I can’t see any reason why Ange wouldn’t want a player like Turnbull in his first team, he just fits the style that Celtic play now.
