Stefano Pioli has stressed to the media that AC Milan will not take their foot off the gas against Celtic this week.
The Milan manager indicates that he doesn’t listen to the media regarding that the Italian’s have an easy group as it includes the Scottish Champions.
Celtic cannot be deemed as an easy club no matter our past results or gaffs as we topped the group last season by beating Lazio twice.
Those Celtic wins will be drilled into Pioli’s mind and he won’t take us for granted.
“We are AC Milan and it is only right that we face every match and competition with seriousness and ambition to win it.
“We are not in a position to choose one or the other.
“We need to use the squad in both competitions, but I will always try and pick my best team for a single match.
“Europe is AC Milan’s garden.
“Yes, we are in the European competition that is the least important, but we are aiming to win the trophy. I think we are in a very balanced group. People said we got a lucky draw, I don’t buy into that.
“So I will stress to my players the importance of getting off to a good start in Glasgow against Celtic.”
Neil Lennon will also be telling his players that AC Milan will be the game to right their wrongs from the weekend’s loss.
The one thing that the Celtic manager does have, is the ability to go into a match as the underdogs and get a huge result similar to both games against Lazio last season.
Could we do it again?
