Celtic are looking very likely to sign Ben Davies on a pre-contract as Alex Neil loses faith in trying to persuade his defender to stay at Preston North End.
The Championship player will most likely sign the deal that would guarantee his transfer to Celtic next summer and this could also be a great move for Lennon as they could negotiate a small fee to possibly take Davis in the January window.
The Preston player has been the subject of transfer rumours for months now as AFC Bournemouth looked set to land him, however Preston were quick to throw the offer out the window and declare that Davies was going nowhere.
Now, it looks although that Alex Neil will lose one of his key players for free next summer and Neil Lennon looks set to land a quality defender for next term, Celtic can afford to wait on this move as we have just brought in the services of Shane Duffy.
If this deal comes out publicly as agreed, then we can assume that Kris Ajer will be staying for 10 in a row and could be guaranteed to leave next summer, this could also mean that Celtic would use the money from the sale of the Norwegian to fund the permanent signing of Duffy with already having Davies on his way.
We will just have to wait and see on this one, Celtic have been linked for the last two months now and hopefully a deal will come to fruition in the January window.
