Former Scotland star and football pundit Pat Nevin warms Rangers and Gerrard that Celtic are still miles ahead, as Lennon has the squad depth to secure another league title.

Celtic still remain top of the table but Rangers could go top by one point if they win their game in hand, January will be the deciding factor in Celtic’s quest for their ninth title as we already know Rangers will have to sell or loan out as the club are skint, Celtic however have the funds to launch a crushing and title race ending blow to the Ibrox club.

Pat Nevin

Nevin states:

You know what the hardest thing is going to be for Rangers, they haven’t got anywhere near the depth of squad Celtic have got.

What happens during the January transfer window, obviously, that has an effect on everyone.

Are they good enough? Are they capable enough [of winning the title]? There’s the possibility. At least now it’s a question.

On paper this year’s season looks close, as close as its been in a long time, however Celtic fans know different as the club has the power to ramp up a gear in this window and Rangers are lucky to be this far as they have just been keeping up with the Champions.

Like last season they will fall away as they quality in depth just isn’t there at Ibrox, in a few months time the Hoops will be miles ahead.
