So Alfredo Morelos has become a top target for Italian club Lazio who Celtic defeated twice last season in the Europa League, we have lost count now at how many clubs are desperate to sign the Sevco striker but none seem to actually place a bid for him.

Seemingly Simone Inzaghi is eager to boost Lazio’s attacking depth and the Colombian striker has emerged as a favourite to make the switch to Italian football.

With one goal in 2020 overshadowed by suspensions from UEFA, the SFA and his own club Morelos is the definition of damaged goods with numerous rounds of transfer speculation failing to produce a single bid.

And Morelos has only 12 league goals in the full of last season to his name, what’s the difference in buying Morelos and maybe going a bargain route and bidding for Hibs hitman Chris Doidge who has the same amount of goal but a much better discipline record than the Colombian.

There is no doubt that Morelos is Gerrard’s key striker as Sevco’s only other real option is auld Defoe, Celtic fans will be happy either way should the striker stay or leave Scottish Football.

The media reports:

LAZIO have put Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos on a summer striker shortlist. The Italian giants are keen to land a top hitman ahead of the new Serie A season.

Ibrox star Morelos has emerged as a potential £20million target for boss Simone Inzaghi. Watford’s Luis Suarez and Crystal Palace’s Alexander Sorloth are also on Lazio’s radar.

But Italian sources have confirmed that sporting director Igli Tare is impressed by Morelos. The Colombian is joint top scorer in the Europa League with six, having also netted eight in qualifiers.
